Gampo utama patamo tajadi pado 8 Juni pukua 20:42 UTC. Guncangan iko maancuaan segmen Suliti nan taletak di bagian salatan Danau Diateh, bagian Sesar Besar Sumatera. Kakuatannyo dipakiroan sagadang Mw 7.2[1] atau Ms 7.1. [7]

Gampo utamo kaduo tajadi pado 9 Juni pukua 03:06 UTC. Guncangan iko mamacahan segmen Sumani jo mungkin bagian barat lauik dari segmen Suliti. Kakuekannyo dipakiroan Mw 7,5, [1] atau Ms 7.4. [7]

Alahan Panjang luluah lantak dek bancano iko. [6][7]

Di dakek segmen Sumani, gampo bumi kamba tajadi baulang kali.[8] Kajadian sarupo mode iko nan parnah tajadi tamasuak gampo bumi pado tahun 1926 jo 2007. [9]
